Richard Santo Aurilia

A standout at St. John’s University, Aurilia hit the first-ever grand slam in interleague play. In 2001, Rich won a National League Silver Slugger Award. From 1999 through 2001, he led NL shortstops in home runs. He has been an All-Star and holds the record for most RBI’s by a shortstop in a post-season. A free agent in 2006, Aurilia re-signed with his original team, the Giants, and moved to first base. He finished that season with 23 home runs, 70 RBI, and a batting average of exactly .30. Aurilia and his wife are very active in the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
