Mark Thomas DeRosa
B: Feb 26, 1975, Carlstadt, NJ
A consummate super utility player, Mark can play all the infield and outfield positions. Currently, he plays third base for the Indians. Mark attended the University of Pennsylvania, where he was the starting quarterback in the 1993-95 seasons, one of only six Ivy Leaguers on major league rosters at the beginning of the 2009 season. In February 2008, DeRosa had a successful heart procedure, earning him the nickname “the Pulse.” That summer, playing for the Cubs, Mark had career highs in home runs with 21 and RBIs with 87. DeRosa is married to model Heidi Miller, with whom he has a daughter.
