James Louis Fregosi
B: April 4, 1942, San Francisco, CA
Jim was the Angels first All-Star and the teams most productive and popular player. He led the American League in double plays twice, won a 1967 Gold Glove Award, and when he left the team ranked ninth in AL history in double plays. Jim held the franchise record for triples, career games, hits, doubles, runs and runs batted in, some of which have been broken. He returned to the team as manager, guiding the Angels to their first-ever postseason appearance in 1979, and Jim later managed the Philadelphia Phillies to the 1993 National League pennant. He is currently the top advance scout for the Atlanta Braves.
