Jason Gilbert Giambi
B: Jan 8, 1971, West Covina, CA
Jason was the American League MVP in 2000 five-time All-Star and won the Silver Slugger award twice. After surgery, he was the 2005 Comeback Player of the Year Giambi mostly appears as a designated hitter for the As and Yankees as his fielding does not equal his powerful batting skills. He was a three-sport star in high school, which was attended by his brother Jeremy, a fellow big leaguer. Currently playing again for the As, Jason has a high career on-base percentage. Giambi is also known to have taken performance-enhancing drugs during his career, an action for which he has publicly apologized.
