Thomas Alan Pagnozzi

B: Jul 30, 1962, Tucson, AZ

In his 12-year career as a catcher for the Cardinals, Tom was a defensive standout who was an NL All-Star in 1992 and a three-time Gold Glove winner. In 1992, he made just one error and tied a National League record with a .999 fielding mark. A graduate of the University of Arkansas and resident of Fayetteville, AK, since retiring in 1998, Pagnozzi came onto the Razorback’s baseball coaching staff as a volunteer assistant coach and stayed with the team for two years. Under his guidance, Arkansas catchers threw out 43 percent of potential base stealers in 2003, the second best mark in the Southeastern Conference.
