Of Italian and Cajun French descent, Andy played for the Yankees from 1995-2003, the Astros from 2004 through 2006 and then rejoined the Yankees, with whom he has won four championships. Pettitte is the only MLB pitcher since 1930 to win at least 12 games in each of his first 9 seasons. Through 2008, he was 10th among active major league players in win-loss percentage; eighth in wins; and 10th in strikeouts. He is also one of only four active players with at least 200 wins, 2,000 strikeouts, and a winning percentage at or above .60. Pettitte holds the all-time record for most starts and innings pitched in the post-season.
