Michael Joseph Piazza
B: 9/14/1968 in Norristiown, PA
A 12-time All-Star and potential Hall of Famer, Piazza holds the career record for home runs by a catcher “396”. As a Dodger in 1993, Mike won the National League Rookie of the Year Award. He finished second in MVP voting in 1997. Traded to the Mets in 1998, Mike became their most popular player. His game winning home run in the first game played in New York after September 11, 2001 is considered one of the great emotional moments in baseball history. He played for Italy in the 2006 World Baseball Classic and was the teams batting coach in 2009.
